The Land of Bewilderment

This project is a contemporary interpretation of The Conference of the Birds - Speech of the Birds - by mystic Sufi poet Farid Ud-Din Attar commonly known as Attar Neyshabouri. In his poem, Attar describes the massive journey of a group of birds pursuing the legendary Simorgh, said godhead. Finally, thirty birds make their way to the site of the Simorgh, which is the symbol of the truth. However, in this contemplation, in this era of division and mourning, the delirious birds, however curious, get caught all in black in the first dome described in Haft Peykar of Nizami Ganjavi.

The project is presented in three formats:painting/illustration, video art, and photography. This collection contains 101 paintings, which are usually 50x70 cm. The project has not been made public, so if you are interested in collaborating in any way, feel free to contact me via email.
